Second Severn Crossing crash: Lorry driver arrested

A lorry driver has been arrested after a crash temporarily shut the eastbound side of the Second Severn Crossing.

South Wales Police said a 31-year-old man from Slovakia was held on suspicion of driving without due care.

Emergency services went to the scene of a collision between four cars and a lorry at 11:20 BST on Wednesday.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said seven "walking wounded" were helped from vehicles and four were taken to hospital for check-ups.

Traffic was redirected on to the original Severn Bridge.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent three crews, and Avon sent others.
