An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire which tore through a boat at Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The blaze broke out in the 50ft (15m) vessel at about 07:55 BST on Sunday and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended.

The boat was recently transported from Cardiff Bay to the old harbour so restoration work could be carried out.

Fire crews used a mobile water tank to tackle the blaze.

South Wales Police are investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01446 734451, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
