BMW driver seriously injured after collision in Cardiff

Police have appealed for witnesses after a car crashed into a bus shelter in Cardiff, seriously injuring its driver.

The trapped man, 36, was freed from his BMW by firefighters following the incident at 00:45 BST on Wednesday.

The car collided with a bus shelter and a tree at Lloyd George Avenue, near its junction with Tyndall Street.

The driver is in hospital with serious head injuries. South Wales Police said witnesses can call 101 or 02920 222111.
