Cardiff Bay jogger identified by police after collapse

Police have traced the family of a jogger who collapsed while out running with no identification on him.

The man, in his 40s, became ill on the Cardiff Bay barrage heading towards Penarth at around 14:25 GMT on Monday.

He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.

South Wales Police appealed for help in tracing his family on Monday. They came forward and are now at the man's bedside.

Officers said the only item the jogger was carrying was a silver key ring with a pharaoh picture on the front and the word Egypt.

There were also red stones on the top of the key ring, with several keys attached to it.
