Driver hurt in A4061 Rhigos mountain road crash

A woman has been freed from the wreckage of her car after colliding with a tree on a Rhondda mountain road.

The crash happened on the Treherbert side of the A4061 Rhigos road at 21:15 GMT on Sunday.

Firefighters from Treorchy and Tonypandy used hand tools and a spinal board to remove the driver with help from paramedics.

South Wales Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
