Workman hurt in Penarth Esplanade building site fall

A workman has suffered a suspected broken leg after falling from the roof of a Penarth Esplanade building and landing on a 6m (22ft) high platform.

South Wales Fire and Rescue service say crews from Cardiff and Newport were called to help paramedics recover the man from the platform.

He was treated at the scene and is believed to have suffered a broken leg.

A £4m Esplanade restoration began in September and is expected to last for a year.
