Barry widow robbed of dying husband's video diary and wedding rings

A widow's video diary of her late husband's final days has been stolen during a burglary at her home.

Thieves also took the woman's engagement and wedding rings and prescription medication during the break-in at Coldbrook Road East, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.

South Wales Police said the burglary happened at some point between Friday 8 March and Saturday 9 March.

They also stole an iPad, iPod and Bose wireless docking station.

Police said the medication taken was Tramadol, diazepam and two bottles of Oromorph.

Det Con David Rich of Barry CID said: "This has been an extremely distressing incident for the victim and the theft of her engagement and wedding rings as well as the camcorder which contained a video diary of the victim's late husband's last few days are of particular concern to her.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have any information concerning this burglary or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area between 8.30pm on Friday 8th March and 10.00am the next day."
