Tribute has been paid to a motorcyclist who died in a crash on the Second Severn Crossing.

Ray Jenkins, 72, from Maesycwmmer, near Caerphilly, was declared dead at the scene on Friday evening.

The crash closed the M4 eastbound for six hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

"Ray was a very loving and caring person who loved the sun, travel and his motorbikes," said his partner Pam Hooper.

"He died doing what he loved best. I will miss him so much."

Gwent Police thanked motorists who were in the area at the time of the crash for their patience while emergency services were at the scene.
