Appeal for owner of dog that killed pet to come forward

Police are still trying to trace the owner of a dog that attacked and killed a pet dog and injured its owner.

The woman needed treatment in hospital after being bitten on her forearms by a "pit bull-type" dog in Victoria Park, Cardiff, on Saturday. Her pet was killed.

South Wales Police said it had received "useful" information from the public but still had not found the owner.

The dog was described as a distinctive blue-grey colour.

South Wales Police said anyone with information about the attack, which happened at 14:30 GMT, could contact them on 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
