World War Two medals among items stolen in Maesteg

A set of four World War Two medals are among a large amount of household items stolen from a house in Bridgend.

Police said the medals, along with a lamp inscribed to mark a 70th anniversary, are of particular sentimental value.

Other items taken at Caerau in Maesteg included a tumble dryer, microwave, Sky TV box and an ornamental crossbow.

South Wales Police said anyone with information should contact Bridgend CID on 101 quoting reference 62140004512.

"This is a very unusual crime with a large amount of property stolen," said Det Con Rebecca Merchant from Bridgend CID.

"The victim is particularly distressed at the loss of the lamp, medals and ornamental crossbow which belonged to the victims' late parents."
