Murder arrests after man, 27, dies following 'assault'

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 27-year-old man died following reports of an assault.

Gwent Police were called to a property in Marshfield Road in Trinant, near Newbridge, at 19:30 GMT on Saturday.

A man had suffered a wound to his body and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport where he died.

Four people - two men aged 26 and two women aged 30 and 22 - were arrested.

Those being held - all from the local area - are in custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or who was in the area at the time to get in touch on 101, quoting log number 384 11/1/14.
