Armed police called to Colum Road, Cathays, in Cardiff

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after armed police were called to a Cardiff street early on Tuesday.

Colum Road in the Cathays area of the city was closed for a short time after police went to an incident just after 07:00 GMT.

South Wales Police said the armed officers were deployed to ensure the safety of their colleagues and the public in the area.

A 28-year-old man has been treated for non life-threatening injuries.
