Bridgend and Pontypool are the latest areas to receive superfast 4G mobile phone service.

Operator EE said it would allow coverage of transport links between Cardiff and Swansea while on the move.

London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow and Southampton were first to receive 4G when EE launched it in 2012.

Newport, Merthyr, Caerphilly, Cwmbran, Caldicot and Chepstow also have 4G.

Fourth-generation networks can provide data to smartphone users up to 10 times faster than standard 3G connections.

EE was the first UK network to offer a 4G service, and now covers more than 180 towns and cities.
