Crews put out iron fire at Cwmcarn industrial estate

Firefighters have spent nearly 12 hours putting out a fire at an industrial estate in Caerphilly county after pieces of iron were set alight.

South Wales Fire Service said 70 tonnes of iron shard went up in flames at the Chapel Farm Industrial Estate in Cwmcarn on Sunday at 04:30 BST.

Crews finally left the scene at 15:27 BST.

There were no reports of injuries.
