Woman charged with attempted murder of two children

A woman has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder after two children suffered knife wounds in an incident earlier this year.

A seven-year-old boy and 16-month-old girl needed hospital treatment after the incident in the Shaftesbury area of Newport on 7 May.

Sadie Jenkins, 27, appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with two offences of attempted murder.

She is due to appear before Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday.
