Two lanes of the M4 motorway have reopened following an earlier accident which saw tailbacks stretching 16 miles along the eastbound M4 around Newport.

A motorcyclist and several vehicles were involved in the incident between junction 24 at the Coldra and junction 23A at Magor.

The delays were stretching back as far as Tredegar Park at junction 28.

Gwent Police said no casualties were reported and all vehicles had been removed from the scene.
