Man, 51, still in hospital after River Taff rescue in Cardiff

A man remains in hospital after being rescued from a river in Cardiff.

The 51-year-old from Cardiff Bay slipped down a ditch, broke his knee and fell into the River Taff on Tuesday evening.

A major rescue alert was issued and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent two boats to the callout near Penarth Road bridge at 20:20 GMT. Police and paramedics also attended the scene.

The man's condition is not known.
