Boy, 16, admits murder of Michael Emmett in Blackwood
A 16-year-old boy has admitted murdering a "fantastic father" who died after being stabbed in Blackwood, Caerphilly county.
Father-of-three Michael Lee Emmett, 29, died on 2 September after he and a second man, aged 44, were stabbed on Bryn Road and Apollo Way on 1 August.
The boy, who appeared at Cardiff Crown Court via video link on Wednesday, cannot be named for legal reasons.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
The teenager previously appeared at magistrates' court while Mr Emmett was still alive in hospital and admitted wounding with intent, assault on a police officer and breaching an anti-social behaviour order.
Mr Emmett's baby daughter was born after he died.
Speaking after his death, Mr Emmett's partner Natalie described him as "a true gentleman, always putting others first".
She added: "He was a fantastic father to our twin boys and we know he would have adored his first daughter.
"He wasn't just my partner and father to our children, he was my soul mate, my best friend and was cruelly snatched away too soon.
"But he will never be forgotten and he will be loved always."
