A police officer suffered minor injuries in a crash while escorting an ambulance in Cardiff.

The incident happened on Manor Way just before 20:00 GMT on Friday.

South Wales Police said the 49-year-old driver of a red Vauxhall Zafira was arrested for excess alcohol but was later released without charge after official readings at the police station found her to be under the limit.

One passenger in the Zafira was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
