Emergency services have been searching the River Taff in Cardiff after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the water.

South Wales Police were called to a stretch of the river at Penarth Road but said the fast flowing current was making the search hazardous.

The police helicopter was at the scene.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said police called for their help at 20:46 GMT. Five appliances and three boats were sent.
