Cyclist shot in face and has bike stolen in Newport robbery

A cyclist was shot in the face with a BB gun and had his bike stolen in a robbery in Newport, Gwent Police have said.

The man, 40, was attacked in an alleyway at Sandpiper Way, Duffryn, on 21 January.

He was treated at the city's Royal Gwent Hospital where he received stitches, but has since been released.

A man, 18, arrested in connection with the incident remains in custody.

A teenager, aged 17, has been released on bail.
