One of Cardiff's busiest roads has reopened following a fire on a bus.

Queues were caused after Western Avenue was shut in both directions for two-and-a-half hours following the blaze on a Wheadon's bus near the Cardiff Met campus just before 17:00 GMT.

One westbound lane remained closed because of damage to the road surface, but has now reopened.

Cardiff-based Wheadon's said only the driver was on board at the time.

It added that nobody was hurt.
