Fire at Eastern High School in Cardiff extinguished

The fire which prompted a Cardiff high school to be evacuated has now been put out, the fire service said.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to Eastern High School in Rumney at 13:40 GMT on Tuesday after the blaze began in an electrical blower heater in the main hall.

Crews from Cardiff central station and Roath were sent to the former Rumney High School.

The school was evacuated and there were no injuries.
