A dancer who blackmailed a married man by threatening to tell his wife about their affair has been jailed.

Kimberley O'Leary, 30, of Merthyr Tydfil, admitted blackmail between 1 August 2014 and 22 January 2015.

Merthyr Crown Court heard on Wednesday how O'Leary demanded her lover pay her more than £4,000 in cash to buy her silence over their relationship.

Judge Philip Richards jailed her for 16 months and imposed a restraining order banning her from contacting her victim.

The court heard the man eventually reported O'Leary, who calls herself 'The Duchess', to police after she "bombarded him with messages, causing pain and misery".
