Tredegar attack: Two men charged over serious assault

Two men have been charged with wounding with intent after a man suffered stab wounds in a Tredegar attack, Gwent Police says.

A 31-year-old man suffered a punctured back after an incident in Commercial Street at 04:20 BST on Friday.

The 20-year-old and 21-year-old suspects, both from Tredegar, were charged with perverting the course of justice on Sunday.

Both have been held and will appear before Newport magistrates on Monday.

The 20-year-old has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

Gwent Police said the victim, who also suffered a cut under his arm, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
