Family of a man who died after being attacked said they have been left "devastated".

Wayne Letherby, 42, died on Friday after being assaulted in De Winton Street, Tonypandy, Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Police have launched a murder probe and officers have been given more time to question four men who were arrested.

A family tribute said: "Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard working man who loved all of his family."

"We are devastated by his death; he will be very much missed by all his family and friends."

Det Chf Insp Ceri Hughes of South Wales Police said there "are clearly a number of witnesses who were in the area at the time who are yet to come forward", including taxi drivers and people in nearby takeaways and pubs.
