Four Cardiff men charged in slavery investigation

Four men have been charged in an investigation into modern day slavery.

All four are from the Rumney area of Cardiff and were arrested last June.

A 58-year-old man has been charged with two counts of kidnap and four of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (AOABH) ; a 38-year-old and a 33-year-old have been charged with one count of kidnap and a 35-year-old faces ones count of AOABH.

They will appear in Newport Magistrates' Court later this month.

Det Supt Paul Griffiths of Gwent Police said: "This is a welcome development for the Operation Imperial investigation, which has been in place investigating allegations of modern day slavery, forced labour and other offences over a period of 30 years."
