Immediate steps are being taken to make a Cardiff road safer after a second child was knocked down in the space of two months.

In March, 12-year-old Hamid Ali Khan died on Ninian Park Road in the Riverside area of the city.

Then on Thursday, a nine-year-old girl suffered minor injuries after colliding with a Renault Megane.

Cardiff council is introducing traffic calming measures on Friday and will add more from July.

These include reducing the speed limit to 20mph and installing speed bumps.
