A motorist has denied causing the death of a 12-year-old schoolboy by dangerous driving.

Calvin Markall, 26, is accused of hitting Hamid Ali Khan as he attempted to cross a junction in Riverside, Cardiff, in February.

Mr Markall, from Rumney, was remanded in custody ahead of another appearance at Cardiff Crown Court next year.

Hamid was a pupil at Fitzalan High School and an avid Cardiff City football fan, his family said.
