Pedestrian, 37, 'critical' after Hafodyrynys crash

A 37-year-old is in a critical condition after being hit by a car on Sunday.

Gwent Police said the driver failed to stop after the incident, on the A472 between Hafodyrynys and Crumlin at about 03:45 BST.

The pedestrian, from Crumlin, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with life threatening injuries.

Police said the driver may not have been aware of their part in the crash, and appealed for information.
