Police are investigating the "sudden and unexplained death" of a 41-year-old man in Cardiff Bay.

Gary Coleman's body was found at his fourth-floor flat in Aquila House, Falcon Drive, just after 20:00 BST on Sunday.

Mr Coleman, who worked in Cardiff University's chemistry department, was last seen by a neighbour on Friday.

South Wales Police is trying to piece together his movements in the days leading up to his death.

Det Supt Kath Pritchard said: "We believe that Gary spent a lot of time by himself and are keen to hear from any friends or acquaintances who can provide information on how Gary spent his time, his daily routine, any hobbies and places he frequented."

He was last seen by a neighbour in the area near Aquila House and was last spoken to by relatives over the telephone at 18:30 on Saturday, she added.

Police are carrying out house to house enquiries, forensic examination and CCTV checks.
