Four in hospital after Llanfoist head-on collision

Four people have been taken to hospital after two cars collided head-on in Monmouthshire.

The A4042 at Llanfoist, near Abergavenny, was closed following the crash at 16:40 BST.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said two of the casualties had to be cut free from the wreckage using hydraulic cutting gear.

Gwent Police is investigating the incident.

Two casualties were taken to nearby Nevill Hall Hospital and the other two were taken Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital.
