Man robs Caerphilly Road post office, Newport, with 'gun'

A man has robbed a post office in Newport with what appeared to be a gun in a plastic bag, police have said.

Gwent Police said the alleged robbery happened at Caerphilly Road at about 13:00 BST on Monday.

The man demanded money and then fled down Laurel Drive.

Police said he was white, 6ft (183cm) tall, dressed in black and wearing a balaclava. People are urged not to approach him but report any sightings or information by calling 101.
