Child burial fees have been scrapped in Bridgend county.

Previously, no charge had been applied when burying children up to 12 in the council's cemeteries, but that age will now be extended to 16.

It follows similar moves by other councils including Cardiff, Caerphilly, Swansea, Torfaen and Merthyr Tydfil.

A campaign is being led by Swansea East MP Carolyn Harris who was forced to take out a loan to bury her eight-year-old son Martin after he died in 1989.
