Four 'seriously' hurt in three-car crash near Pontypool

Four people remain in hospital in a serious condition following a three-vehicle crash in Torfaen.

Two air ambulances were called to the A4043 Cwmavon Road, near Pontypool, on Friday after eight people were hurt.

Gwent Police said two local men were being treated for "serious and life threatening injuries".

Two women were treated for "serious injuries" and a man, woman and two children have been discharged.

Initial reports said four cars had been involved in the collision.

Gwent Police said a red Ford Fiesta, a blue Toyota Iago and a grey Ford S-Max were involved in the crash and officers have appealed for witnesses.
