A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a 52-year-old man in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

South Wales Police said the body of Neal Jex was found at an address in the Penywaun area of Aberdare on Sunday.

Police said the woman, 31, was due to appear at Merthyr Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

In a statement, Mr Jex's family said they were "completely devastated", adding: "We have lost a brother, son, father, grandfather and friend."

"He adored his family and once you met him you would very rarely forget him," the statement said.

"His legacy will live on through his grandson who will never have the opportunity to love him as much as we did."
