Man arrested over woman's death in Pontyberem

A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in a village in Carmarthenshire.

Police say they are treating the death of the 57-year-old as suspicious and have set up an incident room.

Officers were called to the Maesyfelin area of Pontyberem around 16:55 GMT on Thursday.

Police said the man they arrested is being treated in hospital and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room at Ammanford Police Station on the non emergency number 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
