Woman attacked near busy junction in Swansea

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed while walking near a busy junction in Swansea.

The woman, 51, was on Carmarthen Road near Dyfatty traffic lights when she was approached from behind by a man who tried to wrestle her to the ground.

Following a struggle at 2020 GMT on Thursday, the man ran off with her handbag towards Cwmbwrla roundabout.

Det Con Simon Davies said there would have been a considerable amount of passing traffic at the time.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5ft 4in and 5ft 6in, of slim build and clean shaven.

Dc Davies said: "The location where this attack occurred is a busy public road and at the time there would have been a considerable amount of traffic about.

"I am appealing to motorists and also pedestrians who were in the vicinity and witnessed the incident or anyone who has relevant information to come forward."
