Second arrest over assault in Swansea's Wind Street

A second man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Swansea's Wind Street that left a 19-year-old with serious head and facial injuries.

Police say he was attacked at about 2230 GMT outside the Varsity pub on Wednesday, 29 December. A 19-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards.

A 22-year-old was also questioned once police released a CCTV image of a group of men officers wanted to speak to.

Both have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses to what they described as a "totally unprovoked" and "very nasty assault".

The victim was taken to Morriston Hospital after his head was "repeatedly kicked and stamped upon" and he was left unconscious.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Swansea Central CID on 01792 450618 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
