Brit Award-winning band JLS will play Swansea's Liberty Stadium this summer.

The four-piece who shot to fame in ITV talent show X Factor will follow in the footsteps of Elton John, The Who and Pink in playing the venue.

The concert on 12 June is being promoted by Orchard Entertainment, who brought the band to Ponty's Big Weekend in Pontypridd last summer.

Company director Pablo Janczur said he expected high demand for tickets when they go on sale on Wednesday.

The Liberty Stadium date is one of several the band will play throughout the UK this summer.

Since finishing runners up to Alexandra Burke in the 2008 series of X Factor JLS have had three UK number one singles and won two Brit Awards for British Breakthrough and British Single, along with two MOJO Awards.

Mr Janczur said: "JLS are the hottest band in the country at the moment, and it's great to get them down to Swansea, so we expect demand to be extremely strong."
