Charity fighting abuse in churches opens Swansea office

A new service which aims to fight child abuse in Welsh churches has been launched in Swansea.

The Churches' Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS) said it was its first office to be opened outside England.

The office will be run by social worker and magistrate Miriam Leigh.

The charity was launched in 1977 and aims to help churches and childcare organisations in a variety of ways, including how to adopt safe practice in order to protect children from abuse.
