Carmarthen gorse fire being fought by fire crews

Firefighters have tackled a large gorse fire at Rhydargaeau near Carmarthen.

Mid and West Wales Fire service sent five fire engines to fight the fire, which spread to more than 40 hectares (100 acres) on Monday night.

These comprised two engines from Carmarthen, one from Llandeilo, one from Llandydul and another from Pontyates.

A spokesman said the fire was contained within two hours of the call-out at 1840 BST.
