Appeal after woman driver assault at roundabout Swansea

Police are appealing for witnesses after a female driver was assaulted by a male motorist at a roundabout in Swansea.

Both cars were waiting at the junction of Sketty Lane and Derwen Fawr Road at about 09:40 BST on Tuesday 2 August.

South Wales Police say a man got out of his car and reached in through the female driver's window, grabbing her and injuring her lip.

He then returned to his car, a silver Vauxhall Zafira, and drove off.

His car was in front of the victim's dark blue Peugeot 206.

Sgt Carl Price of Townhill police station said: "This incident has happened in what can only be described as a very busy roundabout with vehicles and pedestrians either going to or returning from Singleton Hospital which is located nearby.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and saw the assault, which was a very frightening experience for the lady concerned, or can assist in identifying the assailant, to come forward."

Anyone who witnessed the assault or saw the two vehicles prior to the incident should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
