Boy impaled on handlebars at Aberavon recovering
A 10-year-old boy who was impaled on the handlebars of his bicycle while riding on the seafront in Port Talbot is recovering in hospital.
The youngster had surgery on injuries to his abdomen at Swansea's Morriston Hospital following the accident on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said he was making good progress.
A coastguard rescue team and lifeguards came to his assistance after the accident near Aberavon beach.
The boy was with his mother when he was injured and airlifted to hospital.
