Two men drag woman into Swansea city centre lane

A 20-year-old woman has been attacked in Swansea's city centre, detectives have revealed..

Two men grabbed her and tried to drag her into a lane near Humphrey Street between 04:10 and 04:30 BST on Saturday.

She struggled free and although shaken was unhurt but officers say the consequences could have been serious.

South Wales Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them urgently.

Det Sgt Jonathan Bainbridge said: "This young lady was making her way her home alone after an evening out in the centre, when she was subjected to a totally unprovoked attack by these men.

"It was very fortunate that the victim managed to struggle and break away from the men otherwise the consequences could have been far more serious.

"Although this attack happened during the early hours of the morning there are a number of flats and residential properties near by who may well have heard shouting and screaming."

He appealed to anyone nearby whether in one of the properties close by or just passing who saw the incident or the suspects running off to come forward.
