Man arrested over illegal tipping near Port Talbot

A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with illegally tipping thousands of tonnes of construction and demolition waste near Port Talbot.

The man, from the Port Talbot area, was arrested following a joint operation by the Environment Agency and South Wales Police.

He was bailed for six weeks pending further investigations.

The owner of the land where the alleged tipping took place was also questioned, but was not arrested.

The arrest followed a covert surveillance operation, said Environment Agency Wales.
