Policewoman Ceri Rees, from Llanelli, on casino burglary charge

A police officer has been charged with burglary following an incident at a casino in Swansea.

Ceri Rees, 33, from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, has been granted bail to appear in court later.

The charge followed an incident at Aspers Casino in Wind Street on Sunday, 2 October.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed an officer had been suspended following allegations surrounding off-duty conduct.

"The allegation which is criminal in nature was investigated and subject of consideration by South Wales Police and the Crown Prosecution Service with criminal proceedings being initiated," the force said in a statement.

"Dyfed-Powys Police referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission who deemed the matter suitable for local investigation."

South Wales Police confirmed it had arrested and charged a 33-year-old woman with burglary.
