Driver, 85, dies in crash with parked car in Port Talbot

An 85-year-old man has died after the car he was driving mounted a pavement and crashed into a parked car, say South Wales Police.

It happened in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot.

The 85-year-old was driving along Golden Avenue when his Kia Picanto left the road and hit a Renault Megane.

No-one else was involved. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at the junction with Chrome Avenue at about 10:15 GMT.

The road was closed while accident investigations were carried out.

Witnesses should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
