The line up to this year's Beach Break Live music festival in Carmarthenshire has been announced.

Dizzee Rascal will headline on Saturday night, with Chase and Status performing on Friday and Friendly Fires closing the event on Sunday night.

The event at Pembrey Country Park is in its sixth year and is billed as a student festival to celebrate the end of exams and the start of summer.

Last month, organisers agreed to improve security for this year's event.

Police had asked the council to review the festival's licence after a rise in arrests and drug seizures in 2011.

About 20,000 people came to last year's event and organisers are hoping to improve on that this year.

The four-day event from 14-18 June had attracted opposition in the past after residents became concerned over noise, litter and potential trouble.

However local councillors said prior to last year's festival that they were working with organisers to maximise its benefits.

A study by Bournemouth University found the 2010 event had brought £2.4m into the local economy.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Beach Break Live has announced its biggest, best and boldest line-up to date, which features some of music's brightest stars and hottest new talent.

"Beach Break Live will be buzzing with festival goers enjoying the epic line-up and four fun-filled days in the sun which will see everything from roller discos to The Celtic Games."
