Dog walker is found dead in Pontardawe canal

Police are investigating after a man's body was pulled from a canal in Pontardawe, in the Swansea Valley.

The body of the man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was spotted in the canal near Herbert Street at 11:00 GMT on Friday.

He was last seen walking a dog nearby at 10:40 GMT.

South Wales Police said there were no suspicious circumstances at this stage and are treating his death as unexplained.

Witnesses are asked to call the police on 101.
